Functional integrity when it matters

Maximum safety in the event of fire

In safety-relevant areas such as escape routes, fire compartments, or technical operating rooms, the functional integrity of electrical systems is crucial. The ENYCASE FK series was specially developed for these requirements and meets the highest standards regarding fire protection and operational safety.

To ensure that these systems continue to operate reliably in the event of fire, junction boxes with defined functional integrity are indispensable. They ensure that electrical connections remain operational even under extreme heat exposure – and this for a specified period of time. In Germany, DIN 4102-12 regulates the requirements for the functional integrity of electrical cable systems. These are divided into the classes E30, E60, and E90, which define functional integrity for 30, 60, and 90 minutes, respectively. Additionally, insulation integrity in accordance with BS EN 50200 (PH 120) is a crucial safety factor. It ensures that electrical insulation is maintained even under intense heat exposure – a must for critical infrastructures.

For electrical specialist companies, this means: Only products that demonstrably offer functional integrity or insulation integrity guarantee maximum operational safety and standard-compliant installation. Rely on certified quality – for maximum safety you can depend on in an emergency.

features of the FK series

  • Intrinsic fire resistance in accordance with DIN 4102-12 (German standard) in combination with function-retaining cables
  • Insulation integrity in accordance with BS EN 50200 – for additional safety in combination with insulation retaining cables
  • Screw anchors, ceramic terminals & cable entries – included as standard
  • Multi-stage membranes – for cable entries of different sizes
  • Quick-release with quarter turn – closure position visible for easy inspection
  • Material: Polycarbonate with GFS or sheet steel
  • Burning behaviour: Glow wire test in accordance with IEC 60695-2-11 up to 960 °C, flame-retardant, self-extinguishing
  • Color: Orange, RAL 2003 – indicates fire protection function

New: Models with integrated main line protection

Thanks to the independent protection of the models FK 1604 1F/2F, the functional integrity of the main line is also ensured in the event of fire.

  • Ensuring the flow of electricity to critical systems in the event of fire
  • Increased operational safety for emergency power circuits and safety lighting
  • A decisive factor for compliance with fire protection concepts
  • Standard-compliant in accordance with IEC 60670-22 with permanently installed terminal block and secured outgoing line
  • Tested functional integrity in accordance with DIN 4102-12 (E30/E60/E90) in combination with cables from Dätwyler and Eupen
  • Insulation integrity PH120 in accordance with BS EN 50200

Thanks to the integrated fuse, the entire main line remains intact in the event of a short circuit – without an additional distribution unit. This saves space and costs and meets the standard requirements for functional integrity in the event of fire.
